Sucky Sleep? Here's a lil listy list for ya!

1. Remember when I said the phone wasn't your baby so don't have it in bed. Well I wasn't bullshitting. It really does take a toll on ones getting to sleep. I know, I know. You're probably saying to yourself, well I need an alarm. Do you remember way back when when there were these things called analog clocks. And then they evolved into alarm clocks. There ya go! Problem solved.

2. Stretching is show to improve quality of sleep and quickly getting to sleep. You can do a fun video on JIM or homework from your wonderful fat positive trainer. I know for myself, the days i workout I get great sleep.

3. Routine... Now this is different than consistency. This is holding yourself to the same sequence of activities around the same time every night. Ya ya, I know we have weekends, and you can still keep your routine it'll just be a little later. My nightly routine is; put phone on charger in kitchen, take shower, apply facial products (DRMTLGY), brush teeth, slide into bed, turn on white noise machine, adjust shoulder pillow and put cpap mask on and say what I'm grateful for the day. I know it sounds like alot, but it really does help. Just think to yourself, think about the morning you woke up refreshed from a good nights sleep and repeat that. The more you practice that , the more it'll become routine.

4. Keeping the room cool.... This is where I run into a lot of problems. My husband runs cold, while I run hot. I like things 65 degrees and colder. I sleep with the window open in the winter and A/C on blast in the summer. When your room is colder at night it may decrease your body's core temperature quicker, naturally boosting melatonin, the sleep hormone. A nightly decrease in body temperature relates to a rise in melatonin levels. It's easier to get warm than it is to cool down. You can't take your skin off. LOL. But really, you know what you like. Pillows, sheets, blankets, comforter. Be mindful of your room and how it feels good when you can cozy up with all your layers.

Well I hope some of these help you out. What are some of the things you do to help you get a good nights sleep? Enquirer minds wanna know!
