Welcome to My JAMM! I’m Wendy Welsher, a fat-positive movement coach based in Sacramento, CA, and I’m so glad you’re here. With over 10 years of experience, I specialize in functional strength and conditioning, focusing on teaching the foundations of movement, weightlifting, and power training—skills that enhance your daily life and foster a sense of empowerment.

My Story

I understand firsthand the challenges that can come with movement. As someone living with ADHD, depressive disorder, and anxiety, and in recovery from an eating disorder, I know how deeply these experiences can impact self-esteem and body trust. I’ve also faced fatphobia and weight bias, and these experiences have profoundly shaped my coaching philosophy. My mission is to create a space where you feel seen, valued, and supported on your fitness journey.

My Mission

 founded My Joyous Adaptive Momentous Movement (My JAMM) to provide authentic, accessible, and safe spaces where everyone feels included and empowered. Fitness, to me, is more than physical activity; it’s a joyful and healing experience that can transform your relationship with your body.

My Coaching Philosophy

My approach emphasizes progress over perfection because every step forward matters. I focus on functional strength, joyful movement, and a trauma-informed understanding of fitness. Movement should feel like an act of self-care and empowerment—not punishment. Whether you’re new to fitness, returning after a break, or striving to push your limits, I’ll meet you where you are and celebrate what your body can do at every stage of your journey.
